The programme combines technical assessment, financial resilience review, asset registration, traceability and insurance-backed protection arrangements to support a more resilient and sustainable battery storage market.”
Put simply, it’s a layer of protection running the length of the supply chain, from the manufacturer all the way through to the person with the system on their wall. For consumers, it’s peace of mind that their system will still be looked after years down the line, not just on day one. For installers, it’s confidence that the product they’re fitting will still be supported if something happens to the manufacturer, rather than the risk landing back on them. And for manufacturers, it’s a way of showing both installers and end users that they’re committed to the long-term future of their products, not just the sale.
We’ve seen manufacturers withdraw from the UK market, go into administration and move support overseas in just the last couple of years, leaving customers with broken warranties on systems that still had years of life left in them. That’s not just bad for the customer left without support; it damages confidence in battery storage as a whole. BatterySecure is a step toward rebuilding that confidence, protecting end users while giving manufacturers a genuine way to prove they’re in it for the long haul, not just until the market gets difficult.
